Immersive Frida Kahlo exhibit coming to Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The former Amoeba Music building will once again breath life into the work of a famed artist. Lighthouse Immersive struck gold in 2021 with its Immersive Van Gogh exhibit - allowing viewers to become one with the art. This time, art lovers will be able to immerse themselves into the world of famed Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

"Frida: Immersive Dream," opens this Spring in Los Angeles, featuring the work of the beloved artist, who is globally recognized as a bold and uncompromising painter.

"Frida Kahlo’s art is not only beautiful on an aesthetic level...it has also become a universal symbol of resilience and perseverance...Kahlo used art to empower herself and, in so doing, has become one of the most beloved and popular artists of all time," according to the exhibitors.

"As you stroll through the Lighthouse Immersive gallery, you will see the Mexico-born artist’s work come to life on a grand scale and discover the people, events and obstacles that made her the extraordinary woman she was."

The immersive experience features 500,000 cubic feet of art, made up of 90,000,000 pixels and 1,200,000 frames of video to fully engross viewers.

"Frida: Immersive Dream" opens March 31 in the building on 6400 Sunset Boulevard and will continue through June 11.

In addition to the art experience, there are also options to take part in "immersive yoga," 35-minute yoga classes inside the exhibit led by instructors, plus 25 minutes to tour the art after. For tickets and information, click here.
