San Bernardino County sheriff’s detectives are looking for more possible victims of a man who allegedly drugged and raped a woman he met on Tinder.
At approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning, emergency responders received a 911 call from a woman who said she’d just been raped. Deputies identified the suspect as 37-year-old Luis David Garcia.
“She met Mr. Garcia on, I believe it was Tinder, and somehow arranged to meet up at his place to hang out,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Corporal Adam Cervantes told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “During her time at his residence, she was rendered unconscious, and then she awoke to him performing sexual acts on her.”
Detectives believe Garcia drugged the victim to knock her out, but the specific substance used is still under investigation.
After the victim woke up, she was able to get away and call 911. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Garcia was arrested and booked on rape charges.
While searching Garcia’s home, detectives found evidence suggesting there may be other victims.
