Here’s a question few journalists are brave enough to ask: Is Los Angeles City Hall haunted?
Some believe so. California Haunted Houses claims the century-old building has several haunted floors, including apparitions reportedly spotted on security cameras on the 28th floor. According to Curbed, the spirit of an old-fashioned gentleman is supposedly known to haunt the bathrooms and disrupt City Council meetings.
Just as last Friday’s council meeting got underway, a team from Los Angeles Ghostbusters rolled up in their Ectomobile to check things out.
“We’re monitoring this situation,” Jeremy Treat, personnel manager for the L.A. Ghostbusters, told KNX News’ Craig FIegener. “We're going to try to keep this issue contained within one city block.”
Full disclosure: the L.A. Ghostbusters are a self-described cosplay group, not real ghost hunters. They dress in costume to raise money for philanthropic groups, like the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which supports hospitalized kids.
Saturday was the 40th anniversary of the release of the original Ghostbusters film.
