KNX Hero: Leaping above and beyond to inspire others

Leading her community with leaps and bounds, 17-year-old Chloe Gruenberg is not your typical high school student. She's an accomplished ballerina who has performed and studied all around the world, from Italy to New York.

Each week in Orange County, Gruenberg uses her experience to teach techniques to children between the ages of three and 10.

She tells Heroes Host Heather Jordan, "My favorite part has definitely been the special needs classes because I can advocate for inclusivity and create a place where everyone, regardless of their ability, can have the opportunity to embrace the art form of dance."

Gruenberg is also a long-time volunteer, accruing over 300 hours with Rising Above Disabilities (RAD) and participating in Special Camp - a summer camp where she spent one-on-one time with teens with Down Syndrome.

But that's not all. "I've done stuff with the Down Syndrome Association of Orange County, I had a pen pal, and I've also done the Second Harvest Food Bank," Gruenberg said. AND she has volunteered her time with Hugs for Heroes and Letters for Elders.

She's doing a lot and inspiring many, all before finishing high school!

"I think all of these experiences have led me to continue to share my passion and love for dance with the next generations," said Gruenberg. "It's great because I can use my training and experiences to create a happy and positive environment that promotes growth and self-confidence, and all these other qualities that are super important for the development of young children."

Chloe Gruenberg, soon-to-be high school senior at Santa Margarita High School in Orange County, is our KNX Hero of the Week.
