The 17-year-old Sierra Canyon junior is leading the way at Shoes for Souls, a non-profit started by her older sister and former KNX Hero, Lindsay, back in 2016.

“I'm the vice president of Shoes for Souls, and I help organize drives, talk to large organizations like the L.A. Mission, LA. Dream Center, she told Heroes host Heather Jordan. “I just help with the communication and help planning, organizing donations.”

Sobel says Shoes for Souls has distributed over 62,000 pairs of shoes, and last year they also donated around 600 pairs of shoes to victims of the Eaton fire.

The shoes are given by classmates, athletes and teachers, neighbors and family members.

“People don't realize the impact that a pair of shoes have on your life,” she said.

Sobel said she's honored to be part of this amazing charity, and she has some advice for kids her age who are also looking to make a difference.

“I would honestly say communicate with your school,” she said. “They will most likely have resources. I mean, anything you can do, even the smallest thing. I mean, something as simple, again, as a pair of shoes that takes someone very far in life. Even if it's the smallest thing in the world, just do it.”
