LOS ANGELES (KROQ) — Kurt Warner is the only Rams quarterback to have won a Super Bowl. Will he have company this Sunday? The Klein/Ally Show asked Thursday!
"It's been a great story with Matthew Stafford and the team this year. I would love to see Matthew Stafford take home that trophy and join me with that title," Warner said.
"He's done so many great things in this league but never had this opportunity. They've got a good football team, to be back here for the second time in four years...I think it's their time."
Warner said on paper the L.A. Rams have the better football team, but that he knows well that on paper isn't everything.
The team's NFC Championship win and road to the Super Bowl comes in the same time frame that 'American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story' premiered. The film, starring Zachary Levi, Anna Paquin, and Dennis Quaid, is about Warner's inspirational road to the NFL, depicting the challenges and setbacks he faced to accomplish his dream.
It also tells the story of how Warner met his wife Brenda, and how their love paralleled and intertwined with his career journey. No spoilers here!
