The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that skeletal remains found during a search of the Ballona Wetlands belong to 32-year-old Kolby Story, who has been missing since 2020.
Story’s family said she was in Venice Beach on Dec. 6 and called a friend after she lost her keys on the beach, according to ABC 7. After finding her keys, Story got in her car early in the morning to drive back home.
Story's car was later found at an impound lot in Marina Del Day where it was towed from a nearby Ralph’s parking lot.
Story was declared missing in Dec. 2020. LAPD said she was last seen on Dec. 7 in the 12300 block of Pacific Avenue in Mar Vista.
The LA County Coroner’s Office examined the remains.
