Workers rallied outside Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday calling for a pay raise for hospitality workers ahead of the 2028 L.A. Olympics.
The workers are asking for an immediate raise to a $25 minimum wage, with an increase to $30 by 2028.
“The workers are the ones that are going to make these Olympic Games happen,” Sebastian Silva with Unite Here Local LL told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener. “And if L.A. is really going to put its best foot forward and show what it is to the rest of the world, it's got to pay its workers a living wage.”

The minimum wage ordinance could be placed on the City Council agenda as soon as next week. If it passes, the pay bump would affect an estimated 17,000 families.
