LIST: LA Regional Food Bank to provide free food at giveaway events - Find out how to donate and help

Food banks across the country have been swarmed with an increasing number of people, coming in to receive food assistance.

It's estimated more than 50-million Americans may be experiencing food insecurity in 2020 -- including some 17 million children.


Here in LA County -- more than 600,000 kids are projected to be going hungry.

Here's the list of food distribution events from the LA Regional Food Bank.

Michael Flood, the President and CEO of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, tells KNX 1070 News he's seeing an increase in the number of people coming in for help.

"A lot of families, who are furloughed or laid off, or small businesses have closed, have been impacted significantly throughout Los Angeles County. It's been a real struggle. People, many who, it's the first time they've sought food assistance," he says.

Flood also tells us in some incidents so many people showed up to food giveaway events that his organization ran out of food before being able to serve everyone in line.

The LA Regional Food Bank is distributing food Saturday morning in Long Beach and in Santa Monica, Compton, and Inglewood next week.
