A little fuzzy monster with an unnerving toothy grin has become the latest craze – but good luck getting your hands on one.

Stars like Rihanna have been spotted with Pop Mart’s Labubu clipped to their luxury bags. Stores in Los Angeles and around the world have lines out the door as customers scramble for different versions of the admittedly-ugly-but-in-a-cute-way fanged elves.

Joe, owner of Toy Bento in Koreatown, told KNX News’ Karen Adams that Labubu is the most popular toy he’s selling right now. He said they’re hard to find, even for him.

“It is really, really extremely difficult,” he said.

Rudy struck gold at Toy Bento, getting the Halloween Labubu for his 7-year-old daughter. He'd been searching for 2 weeks.

“I one time found one in Little Tokyo, but they've been out for quite some time,” he said.

If you’re looking for one, be careful of fakes – Labubu enthusiasts call them “Lafufus.” Joe said the best way to make sure the toy is authentic is to buy from a Pop Mart store, or a shop like his that buys directly from Pop Mart.
