LOS ANGELES (KNX) – The Los Angeles Police Department released video Wednesday of the Christmas Day street takeover that left one woman dead.
The street takeover occurred at 9 p.m. at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard. One of the cars, described by officers as a black Chevy Camaro, lost control and struck a group of pedestrians that were standing on the northwest corner of Florence Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard.
One of the pedestrians, 24-year-old-Elyzza Guajaca, died at the hospital from sustained injuries.
The videos showed the aftermath of the takeover in which some people are seen walking onto what appears to be a gas station parking lot. One person is seen carrying another person and helping them into the passenger seat of the car.
Another video shows a group of people watching as one person is seen beating down another person, before a brawl breaks out.
LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno said there were 200 people in the crowd.
The department said that as a result of those videos, detectives found six to seven additional victims and are asking the public’s help in identifying them.
Detectives are still looking for the driver of the black Chevy Camaro and announced a $50,000 reward for any information leading to the identity, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
