LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Investigators with the Los Angeles Police Department released an image of a convicted human trafficker Tuesday in hopes that additional victims will come forward.
Jamelvin Moore was found guilty by a jury of human trafficking of a minor, sexual assault on Jan. 6, after nearly one year of investigations, LAPD said in a statement. The Long Beach resident, sentenced to life in prison, first came on LAPD's radar last February, as officers investigated the attack and rape of a 14-year-old victim.

"It was determined that she was also a victim of human trafficking, at which time the LAPD South Bureau-Human Trafficking Unit (SBHTU) assumed the investigation," LAPD said in a statement.
After various interviews investigators determined that the child was a victim of child exploitation by Moore, who was known to her as "Jay" or "Jamel."
At the time, Moore was registered as a sex offender, a documented Long Beach gang member and on parole for an additional human trafficking of a minor case involving an 11-year-old victim.
In the Jan. 6 decision, jury members said given Moore's criminal history and the nature of his crime, he should spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Despite his arrested and sentencing, investigators believe there may be additional victims out there and are asking them to come forward.
Anyone with information about additional victims, or who believes they are a victim of Moore's, is urged to call LAPD's Operations South Bureau Human Trafficking Unit at 213-202-4390 or email Osbhttaskforce@lapd.online.
