SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - A man was in the hospital after he was shot by a sheriff's deputy in Santa Clarita, authorities said Wednesday.
The shooting occurred around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 24200 block of Arch Street, near Newhall Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

The sheriff's department did not release details about what prompted the shooting or the condition of the suspect.
The shooting was under investigation.
