It's likely going to get more expensive to take an Uber to or from LAX.

On Tuesday, the Board of Airport Commissioners will hold a special meeting where they will vote on whether to increase the fees travelers pay when getting picked up or dropped off by ride-shares, taxis, and limos as a way to reduce congestion.

LAX is considering raising the fees to $6 each way, but once the people-mover opens it would jump to $12.

Right now, travelers getting dropped off or picked up pay $4 or $5 in base fees. The companies then get charged, and the fees get passed on to riders.

LAX officials say the fees "no longer reflect the value of the market.”
