Officials with Lineage, the company that runs the frozen food warehouse burning in Boyle Heights, say they've given $2 million to support community members impacted by the fire.
The money was given to the California Community Foundation, according to the statement issued by the company.
“Since the fire began, we have been in regular, ongoing communication with Mayor Bass, Councilmember Jurado, Supervisor Solis and their teams about how we can best assist the community,” the statement continued. “We continue to be in frequent contact with their offices and remain grateful for their leadership and compassion for the people they serve.”
Officials also said that the company doesn't own the building or the solar array on the roof and blames a third-party solar company for the fire
“We believe the fire originated on the roof on Wednesday while the company's subcontractors were servicing the solar array,” officials said.
Firefighters are still working to contain the fire.
