LA County expands COVID-19 vaccine eligibility again.

Among those most recently added to the list of people who can get shots: gardeners, landscapers, nannies and house cleaners, who work more than 20 hours a week.

They may be asked for ID, it doesn't have to be government-issued, and proof of eligibility, which can be a self-attestation letter.

"Immigration status is not required and will not be asked for at any vaccination site," says Dr. Paul Simon, the county's chief science officer, notes anyone 50 and older will become eligible for vaccination on Thursday.

"There will undoubtedly be a rush on April 1. We estimate somewhere between 800,000 and a million initial people who will now become eligible," he says.

While the county's expecting its biggest shipment of vaccine yet for next week, it's fewer than 340,000 doses and many currently eligible people have yet to get even their first shot.

"I want to make sure the public recognizes that there may be challenges to getting an appointment immediately," Simon says.

On April 15, vaccinations will be expanded to anyone 16 and older.
