Michael John Bond was arrested about 1:55 a.m. Friday and was being held at the Beverly Hills Jail on $50,000 bail, according to sheriff's online inmate records.

Beverly Hills police told NBC4 they were called just after midnight to the home of the 76-year-old pop star, who was home at the time of the break-in.

Police said Bond was recorded on surveillance video as he entered the property and an alarm apparently scared him off. He was nabbed a few blocks from Ritchie's house and booked on suspicion of residential burglary, the station reported.

No injuries or theft of property were reported.
