Police in Glendale shot and killed a man they say assaulted a neighbor with a knife.
Officers responded to a reported assault in the 3700 block of Honolulu Ave. just after 9 p.m. Monday night. When they arrived, they found someone with injuries “consistent with an assault involving a knife,” according to the Glendale Police Department. ‘
The suspect, armed with a knife, ran away and led officers in a pursuit.
“During the pursuit, the suspect turned and advanced toward the pursuing officers while still armed with the knife,” according to the department.
The man was then shot by officers and died at the scene.
The neighbor was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This incident remains under investigation.
