Man arrested after barricading himself inside 7-Eleven for hours
VAN NUYS (CNS) - A man was arrested Saturday after breaking glass and threatening employees at a 7-Eleven in Van Nuys, then barricading inside the store for hours, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched at about 4 a.m. Saturday to the 15300 block of Vanowen Street, at Sepulveda Boulevard, where the man had been "causing a ruckus throwing bottles onto the floor," according to an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
The suspect was described a man about 35 years old, wearing a black T- shirt and white pants.
A SWAT team was called to the location at about 5:30 a.m.
and employees and customers were evacuated from the store.
The suspect surrendered to SWAT personnel at about 10:30 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
