Authorities Wednesday arrested a man who led police on about a three-hour chase in a stolen construction truck along surface streets from the Chatsworth to the Canoga Park areas.

The chase began after officers were sent to DeSoto Avenue and Lassen Street about 7:20 a.m. on a report of a hit-and-run crash involving the truck, which was pulling a trailer, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police pursued the vehicle in the Northridge, Canoga Park and Woodland Hills areas. The truck was involved in at least one collision with a vehicle that was not involved in the chase. Along the way, officers deployed spike strips, and one of the vehicle's front tires began losing air.

By about 9 a.m., the truck was on Reseda Boulevard in Tarzana with a flat front tire. About 9:30 a.m., the vehicle was heading along Ventura Boulevard in the Woodland Hills area.

About 10 a.m., the truck was still moving, but about 20 minutes later, the vehicle came to a stop at Canoga Avenue near Chase Street in Canoga Park and the man surrendered. His name was not immediately available.
