A man was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing his father and a woman Wednesday morning at a home in Woodland Hills, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched about 8:40 a.m. to an "assault with a deadly weapon" call in the 24200 block of West Hatteras St., according to the LAPD's Media Relations Division.
"We had a male armed with a knife," Officer Rosario Cervantes said.
The suspect allegedly attacked his father and a woman at the location, Cervantes said.
An LAPD detective told KNX News' Pete Demetriou a 34-year-old man, who has a history of mental illness, didn't want to go to a court hearing he was set to attend. The detective said an argument ensued and the man stabbed his father and mother.
Paramedics transported one person, with moderate injuries, and two people, with serious to critical injuries, to a hospital, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
Demetriou reported the man will be charged with two counts of attempted murder.
