Man electrocuted, injured working in ceiling at restaurant

A 25-year-old man was electrocuted Thursday while working in the ceiling of a restaurant in the University Park community of Los Angeles and rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics were dispatched at 12:45 p.m. Thursday to 2718 S. Figueroa St., the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. An online search revealed that a Taco Bell restaurant is at that address.

Firefighters extricated him from the ceiling and transported him in critical condition. "Per protocol, CAL OSHA will be notified of a workplace for their investigation," said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
