A man was fatally injured Tuesday while working near heavy machinery at a hillside residential construction site in Bel Air.

Crews were dispatched around 10:10 a.m. Tuesday to 10663 W. Chalon Road near the intersection of Lausanne Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"Despite the quick response of LAFD crews, his injuries proved fatal ...," according to the LAFD.

Fire officials indicated the man was near equipment that could have included an auger and a skip loader.
The man's name was not immediately available.
No other injuries were reported.
