A suspect was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies in Hacienda Heights and an investigation of the shooting was underway Friday.

Deputies from the sheriff's Industry Station were called to the 16000 block of Sigman Street and South Stimson Avenue east of William Steinmetz Park at approximately 4:08 p.m. Thursday where deputies encountered the suspect, said LASD homicide Lt. Daniel Vizcarra
The man suffered fatal injuries, and was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
