A man was fatally shot Thursday in Whittier and an investigation was underway.

Sheriff's deputies were called at 12:11 a.m. Thursday to the 14000 block of Leffingwell Road and Loma Drive where they found the victim, according to Sheriff's Information Bureau.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
