A homeless man was found fatally shot at a Redondo Beach Pier parking structure Friday, prompting a homicide investigation.

Officers responded to the 100 block of West Torrance Boulevard around 6:10 a.m. Friday on a report of an unconscious victim with a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

Redondo Beach Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

There was no immediate word on a possible suspect or motive for the shooting.

"Detectives from the Redondo Beach Police Department Investigations Unit have initiated a homicide investigation and are following several leads," the RBPD said in a statement.
