A man was found guilty of second-degree murder for shooting six-year-old Aiden Leos on the 55 freeway in Orange County in 2021.

Marcus Eriz was charged with murder after firing the fatal shot during a road rage incident. He was arrested on June 8, 2021.

Eriz was accused of pulling out his gun during a road rage incident and firing a shot out of the passenger window after Aiden’s mother gave him the middle finger as she passed him and his girlfriend on the freeway. Eriz’s girlfriend allegedly cut Aiden’s mother off, which sparked the confrontation.

The trial started on Jan. 18. Eriz didn’t take the witness stand in his defense.
