Man killed in hit-and-run in L.A. area; suspect sought

A man who had been hit by a vehicle was found dead Friday in the downtown Los Angeles area, and the motorist was being sought.

The body was discovered about 4:40 a.m. near Temple Street and Fremont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Information on the identity of the man, who was about 50 years old, was not immediately available.

The vehicle that hit him may have been a 2007-2011 Toyota Camry, police said. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD Central Traffic Division at 213-833-3746, or 877-LAPD-247.
