Police Tuesday are investigating what they say was a gang-related, drive-by shooting in North Hollywood where a 43-year-old man was killed.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division were called at 12:30 a.m. to 11344 Hatteras St. near Tujunga Avenue regarding a shots fired call. When they arrived, officers learned the man was walking along Hatteras when a vehicle drove up to him and opened fire several times, striking the victim in the chest, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Police found several shell casings at the scene, according to reports from the scene.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel took the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
There was no vehicle or suspect description.
