Lopez was working at the bar that night when police said he got into a verbal spat with Rivera, who then allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Lopez before fleeing on foot.

Lopez was struck multiple times by the gunfire and was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.

Rivera was arrested Jan. 21 during a traffic stop near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Roswell Avenue in Chino, police said.

Rivera has remained jailed on a little more than $2 million bail and is due back in a Long Beach courtroom March 17, according to City News Service.
