LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A Downtown Los Angeles man is accused of posing as a woman on a dating app to lure male victims to his apartment, drug and rape them, police said Wednesday.

Aadrian Evelyn, 32, was arrested Tuesday in three separate assaults that occurred in recent months.

Evelyn’s alleged victims told police they thought they were communicating with a woman on a dating app, but it was actually Evelyn sending pictures of a woman in addition to “sexually suggestive” texts.

Believing they were meeting up with the woman in the photos, the men agreed to go to the residence with the intention of engaging in a sexual encounter with her, police said. However, when the victims arrived at the residence, they were met by Evelyn, who claimed to be a friend of the woman.

“Once they arrived, Evelyn is believed to have drugged the victims and sodomized them while they were unconscious,” police said.

The victims’ statements, along with DNA evidence, were used to link Evelyn to the assaults, according to police.

Detectives believe that there may be more victims who have yet to come forward and are hoping Evelyn’s arrest will encourage them to report their experience.

Evelyn remains in police custody, held on $300,000 bail, police said.

Additional victims or anyone with information is asked to contact the LAPD Det. Stanziale at (213) 996-1837. To remain anonymous, call the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477 or visit www.lacrimestoppers.org.
