This is a happy cat reunion story.

Earlier this month, the LA County Department of Animal Care and Control received a call about an injured stray cat that was on the front porch of a Palmdale house.

Officer Luis Leal rescued and brought the stray back to Palmdale Animal Care Center.

Turns out the cat had a microchip. Leal contacted the owner, identified as Charles by the LA County Department of Animal Care and Control, but unable to reach him, and left him a voicemail. Leal told the man his animal was found and at the care center.

Charles is confused and calls the care center back. Charles does not own any pets.

A Sergeant Valles tells him they found his cat in Palmdale and the microchip information was linked to him.

Here's the happy ending twist: Turns out it is his long-lost cat Brandy missing for 15 years!

"Charles was very emotional and continued sharing with Sergeant Valles that “Brandy” went missing over 15 years ago and he never thought he would see her again," according to the press release.
