Man riding motorized scooter dies in West L.A. crash

A man riding a motorized scooter died after crashing into a parked vehicle in the West Los Angeles area, police said Wednesday.

The incident occurred about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday on a residential street near Beloit and Missouri avenues, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The man, in his 20s, was found dead later that morning in the parking garage of a nearby apartment complex, police said.

Information on his identity was not immediately available.

Authorities were investigating the circumstances of the crash, and urged anyone with information on the case to call LAPD West Traffic Division detectives at 213-473-0234, or 877-LAPD-247.
