A man is facing kidnapping charges and more after deputies say he stole a pickup with a camper attached, where another man was sleeping.
On Wednesday, a man was asleep when San Bernardino County deputies say Omar Hernandez stole it.
Gloria Orejel with the department told KNX News’ Karen Adams the sleeping man woke up and called 911, but couldn't give a location because he was in the camper.
“Aviation was in the area and once they got a description of the truck, they were able to locate it near the intersection of Highway 395,” she said.
She said a deputy tried to stop the truck, but Hernandez failed to yield, which led to a pursuit.

“The suspect eventually crashed into 4 vehicles on Highway 395 and Main Street, and that is where he was taken into custody,” she said.
Hernandez was arrested and booked for kidnapping, vehicle theft, and evading police.
As for the man inside the camper, he’s doing ok.
