Mandatory evacuations were issued shortly after 11 a.m. for residents within the following boundaries:

East: Balboa Boulevard

South: Sesnon Boulevard
North: Sunshine Canyon Road

Evacuation warnings were issued for the area between Tampa Avenue and Balboa Boulevard, as well as between Rinaldi and Sesnon.

Just after 11:40 AM, reports from the scene suggested fire crews were making great progress, allowing officials to downgrade the evacuation order to an evacuation warning and lift the evacuation warning.

As of 12:00 PM the fire was estimated at 31 acre, and was revised to just under 19 acres with forward progress stopped later in the hour.
