Police in Redlands and Claremont are looking for tips into the disappearance and possible murders of two men associated with a small religious group.

Ruben Moreno, 49, was reported missing in August 2019. He was a member of a religious group called His Way Spirit Led Assemblies, according to the Claremont Police Department.

Emilio Ghanem, 40, was reported missing in 2023. Police said he was last seen in the city of Redlands on May 25, 2023. Like Moreono, Ghanem was also a member His Way Spirit Led Assemblies; however, police say he left the group shortly before he disappeared.

“Mr. Ghanem had come to Redlands just briefly to meet somebody at a Starbucks on Redlands Boulevard, and that was the last time that he was seen or heard from,” Carl Baker with the Redlands Police Department told KNX News’ Emily Valdez

Carl Baker with the Redlands Police Department told KNX News’ Emily Valdez that Ghanem also worked for the pest control company that was owned by His Way Spirit Led Assemblies. The company was called Fullshield, but the name has since changed to Maxguard.

A rental truck Ghanem drove was recovered, and while Baker said police did find evidence, he did not specify which kind.

Baker said the religious group has not had any cooperation from the religious group. Valdez also reached out to the group, but the number was disconnected.

Police are asking any former members, current members, or just anyone in the public who may have information on the missing men to call Redlands or Claremont police.
