A model has dropped her lawsuit against Kylie Jenner Inc. in which the plaintiff alleged the beauty brand hired her for photo shoots in June and August 2020 and paid her late each time.
An attorney for Yirledys "Sasha" Palma filed court papers on Friday Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Lipner asking that his client's case be dismissed "with prejudice," meaning it cannot be refiled. The court papers do not state if a settlement was reached or if Palma is not pursuing the case for other reasons.
In her complaint brought against 26-year-old Kylie Jenner's company on June 15, Palma sought $120,000 in alleged state Labor Code penalty violations. The June 2020 photo shoot took place in Los Angeles and the second one two months later in Long Beach, according to the suit.
In earlier court papers, Kylie Jenner Inc. lawyers maintained the lawsuit should be dismissed and that Palma be ordered to pay attorneys' fees and costs to the firm. The defense attorneys cited multiple defenses on behalf of the company, including immunity and that Palma was not a "print-shoot employee" of the firm as defined by the Labor Code.
