COSTA MESA (CNS) - A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision this afternoon on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway in Costa Mesa.
The motorcycle collided with a sedan at 2:19 p.m. on the northbound Costa Mesa Freeway under the HOV Flyover to the San Diego (405) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP the rider was splitting lanes at the time of the crash, meaning the rider was on the line between two lanes of vehicles and moving in the same direction.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
