A 63-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman on a green Harley-Davidson motorcycle were hauling a small trailer on the freeway at around 70 miles per hour, CHP Public Information Officer David Torres told City News Service. At some point, the man made an unsafe turn to the left, lost control and overturned into the center divider of the freeway.
Both were ejected from the motorcycle and taken to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries, Torres said. The woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
