A motorcyclist was killed in a collision involving two vehicles on the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Bell Gardens, authorities said Friday.

The collision occurred around 5:20 p.m. Thursday near Clara Street, between the Florence Avenue and Firestone Boulevard off-ramps, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist received life-saving measures at the scene before being taken to a hospital by paramedics, where he later succumbed to his injuries, CHP said.
"East Los Angeles CHP units received a call of a traffic crash involving a motorcycle rider trapped underneath a vehicle on southbound Interstate 710, under the Clara Street over-crossing," CHP said in a statement.
The name of the victim was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Investigators said the vehicles involved in the collision were a 2017 Toyota Corolla, a 2020 Infiniti QX60 and a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.
Details of what led to the crash remained unclear as CHP officials continued their investigation into the incident.
