A man wearing a yellow motorcycle helmet was found dead Friday morning in the Orange Crush, the interchange where the Garden Grove (22), Santa Ana (5) and Orange (57) freeways meet in Santa Ana and resulted in closures that snarled traffic in the area.

The motorcyclist was discovered at 7:05 a.m. face down on top of the center divider of the westbound Garden Grove Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The motorcyclist's age was not determined.
A SigAlert was issued at 7:31 a.m. shutting down the HOV lane and lane 1 of the westbound Garden Grove Freeway.
A search for the motorcycle ended with the CHP shutting down the transition from the eastbound Garden Grove Freeway to the northbound Orange (57) Freeway at about 7:50 a.m.
