LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A motorist was killed in a vehicle crash in the Palms area of Los Angeles and may have been at the scene for a day or two prior to law enforcement arrival, authorities said Thursday.
With details still sketchy, California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched at 7:35 a.m. Thursday to the area of the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway, west of Manning Avenue, the CHP reported.

The motorist had crashed a vehicle into a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene.
While seeking further corroboration, the man and the vehicle may have been at the location for at least a day or two, the CHP said.
A representative from the coroner's office was called out the location at 7:41 a.m.
