A 78-year-old motorist was killed when his pickup truck crashed into a tree Thursday in Garden Grove.
Officers dispatched about 4:55 a.m. Thursday to the 13200 block of Chapman Avenue regarding reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a tree found the driver unresponsive, according to Garden Grove police Sgt. Charles Starnes.

Arriving paramedics pronounced Orange resident James Eads dead at the scene, Starnes said.
Eads was the lone occupant inside the white 2000 Toyota Tundra.
There was no indication that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
