Witnesses told police that a group of people walked up to the victims, ages 17 and 18, on Cliff Drive shortly after midnight. The suspects shot several times and then drove away.

When paramedics arrived, both young men were pronounced dead at the scene.

As KNX News' Karen Adams reports, no one in the area wanted to speak on the record, with one man saying, "the streets don't talk."

There is currently no description of the people involved.
