
LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Kids across the Los Angeles Unified School District will soon be mobile, thanks to an investment in "Learn-to-Ride" programs by several organizations Friday.
In a partnership with between The NASCAR Foundation and All Kids Bike — a national organization on a mission to teach kindergartner's how to ride in PE classes — $250,000 donation was donated so that all 50 LAUSD schools will can establish Learn-to-Ride programs, NASCAR said in a statement.

"Every child should be able to experience the joy and freedom of riding a bike, Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted Friday.
All 50 schools were given a fleet of 24 Strider Balance Bikes, pedal conversion kits, helmets and teacher instruction bikes, in addition to an eight-lesson curriculum as part of the investment into Los Angeles schools.
The programs will be used to help promote cycling, foster overall health and "give children in these programs the chance to 'experience the joy of two wheels'" NASCAR said.
"The NASCAR Foundation is excited to collaborate for the first time with All Kids Bike," NASCAR Foundation chairman Mike Helton said in a press release.
"Joining forces with programs that have core values similar with our own is invaluable. The Los Angeles market is home to many passionate NASCAR fans and a huge part of our greater racing community. It will be an incredible opportunity to give back and show our commitment to this area."
The donation to the City of Los Angeles was announced Friday at the Los Angeles Coliseum, two day before NASCAR's first-ever "Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum."
The company reportedly spent more than one million dollars setting up a quarter-mile asphalt race track inside the stadium ahead of the 3 p.m. PST event on Sunday.
