A Carl’s Jr. franchisee in Southern California is helping to feed people hit hard by the ongoing federal government shutdown.
Akash Management LLC, announced on Tuesday that select Carl’s Jr. locations will offer a kids hamburger, small fries, and kids drink for $1.

“Our commitment has always been to the neighborhoods we serve,”
Amir Siddiqi, owner and CEO, said in a press release. “We live here. We work here. We raise our families here. When our community is under stress, we feel it too. A warm meal at a fair price can offer a moment of comfort during uncertain times, and we believe that matters.”
Those who want the deal must show a federal government employee ID, a military ID, or their Cal Fresh card.
The deal will go on throughout the duration of the shutdown.
