A new sign along the 101 Freeway in Hollywood has some people doing double-takes.
The sign, which looks like the Hollywood sign with its big, white letters, is an ad for freelance platform Fiverr, and it’s meant to connect small companies with AI directors to make AI videos.
The letters spell out @Billy_Boman, who creates AI content. Boman is on Fiverr and is charging $15,000 for his services.
KNX News’ Jon Baird spoke with people about their thoughts on the sign. One woman called it a “distraction.”
“I’m surprised there weren’t more car crashes,” she said.
One man said the advertisement’s cool, but he’s not for AI.
“To me, it just seems like that's a job getting taken away from somebody else, you know what I mean?” he said. “That's awesome that they're finding a way to make cheaper commercials, but at the expense of who?”
