A new COVID-19 vaccination center is being launched today in LA’s Chinatown.

People have been lined up around the corner to get their shot.

The purpose of this site is to ensure that residents 65 & older have equitable access to the vaccine. The address is 711 W. College St.

Mei was in line with her 87-year-old mother and she says "It's a really good to have a chance to get a shot."

This new vaccination center is expected to operate five days a week and administer as many as 800 doses a day – depending on supplies.

It’s being operated as a hybrid of appointments and walkups, prioritizing seniors in Chinatown who can’t make appointments online.

They have staff on hand to help with registration as well as translators.

The clinic, run by the St. John's Well Child and Family Center, estimates it has vaccinated more than 100,000 people in the Los Angeles area amid reports of two undocumented women who were refused coronavirus vaccinations in Orange County Rite Aid stores. Rite Aid has called the refusals mistakes in a written statement. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)
