On Friday, Metro officials will cut the ribbon on the new LAX station, which will bring riders closer than ever to the airport terminals.

The LAX/Metro Transit Center will open to the public at 5 p.m. at Aviation Blvd. and 96th St. Travelers will be able to get to the terminals using the free airport shuttle buses, which will run every 10 minutes.

“Take the [Metro] C and the K line to our new LAX MTC station and you will be on your way,” Edna Stanley, Deputy Chief Operations Officer of Transit Service Delivery at LA Metro, told KNX News’ Jon Baird.

Stanley added that the new system connects to a larger network.

“You can get to the East Side in Santa Monica with the E line with your connection through the K line,” she said. “It'll take you to downtown Los Angeles. This is also a huge bus hub, so there are six metro bus routes that will be stopping here, as well as eight municipal bus routes.”

In 2026, travelers will be able to get off the train and jump on the Automated People Move to get to their terminal.

The center will have restrooms, a bike hub, waiting areas, and a snack shop, officials said.

Travelers can ride the metro system for free all weekend long. After the weekend, the fare will be $1.75.
