A new museum dedicated to photo booths will open in Silver Lake on Friday.
The Photo Booth Museum will feature five photo booths, with four of them being vintage. Co-owner Doug Ellington told KNX News’ Karen Adams he got into photo booths in 2010 when his wife suggested they have a photo booth at their wedding.
“I fell in love with the idea of having an old photo booth,” he said. “So I ended up building one of my own booths. After I built it, I realized I don't know anything about business, so I asked my old roommate and college teammate, Matt Dewalt, to help me.”
Business took off from there.
“We started off doing weddings over the years,” Ellington continued. “We would just buy them and collect them, and they were sitting in storage if I'm being honest.”
He said having a museum is” kind of a dream come true.”
“There's no entry fee to get in [the museum],” he said. “You'll just come inside and choose the booth that you want to use. When you're ready, you swipe or tap your card. The booths are gonna take four pictures.”

Ellington said guests can purchase key chains to put the pictures in.
If you happen to have an old photo booth just lying around somewhere, Ellington said he's interested.
